Bay Shrimping By Catch Facts By catch is returned to the water after this series of events: The catch is caught in net and dragged up to two hours inside the net. The net is hauled up out of the water compacting the entire catch. The catch is unceremoniously dumped into a holding tank for sorting. The catch is sorted with shrimp given the highest priority. Once the shrimp is sorted out and on ice,? which can take considerable time, the bycatch is then dumped back into the water. By catch may not be dumped back into the water until the end of the day’s shrimping activities. |
